Activities at Nesfjellet

Nesfjellet is a year-round destination, and the ski resort is only a 20-minute drive from the hotel. During the winter season, there are excellent conditions for both alpine skiing and cross-country skiing at Nesfjellet. For cross-country enthusiasts, there are over 100 kilometres of groomed trails through forests and open mountain terrain.

Nesfjellet also offers year-round activities. Nesfjellet Golf features some of Norway’s most beautiful mountain courses. The terrain around the hotel is also perfect for cycling. In addition, there are countless hiking trails in the traditional mountain farming landscape surrounding the hotel, as well as in the high alpine terrain.

Nesfjellet Bike Park

Nesfjellet Bike Park is a brand-new mountain biking area offering lift-accessed trails and routes for all levels – from beginners to experienced riders. Here you’ll find family-friendly flow trails, a Gravity Zone for the youngest riders, and natural trails with stunning mountain views. A true summer adventure for the whole family.

Cycling in Nesbyen and at Nesfjellet

The Nesbyen, Nesfjellet, and Hallingdal region offers some of Scandinavia’s best trail networks for mountain biking. Bring the family for a fun ride on machine-built trails through forests and open mountain terrain, or head out on more technical flow trails that will challenge your skills.
There are routes and challenges for all levels, and Nesbyen has a strong cycling culture with great shuttle opportunities.

Nesfjellet Golf

At the foot of Nesfjellet lies a beautifully situated golf course. A complete 9-hole facility with a driving range, two practice areas, and a pro shop. The café serves nutritious, homemade food.

The course is open every summer from late May through week 40.

Good fishing waters near Ranten.

In the terrain surrounding the hotel, you’ll find several beautiful lakes with excellent fishing opportunities. Many of these are within walking distance from the reception, set in mountain and marsh landscapes.

Just 30 minutes from Ranten Hotel, you’ll find Langedrag Nature Park, offering unforgettable animal experiences in beautiful surroundings. Here you can get close to native Norwegian wildlife and enjoy a unique connection with animals and nature.

Nesfjellet Alpin

The alpine slopes attract many ski-loving families to Nesfjellet, with six lifts, 14 runs, and a park for jibbing and snowboarding. There is also a dedicated area for children and beginners. The ski resort can be seen on the horizon from the main lodge.
