Helga Flatland and Mikkel Bugge invite you to an inspiring writing course in Nesbyen. 20th and 21st of June.
Learn concrete methods for developing an engaging idea, building strong story structure, and creating believable characters. How do you write lively dialogue, edit your own text – and keep writing when all you want to do is give up? Through a combination of instruction, writing exercises, and personal feedback, you’ll learn useful tools for writing texts that engage and move the reader. Helga and Mikkel provide personal feedback along the way, offering tips and tricks you can carry with you throughout your writing process.
This course is about trying, exploring, and creating – without pressure, but with lots of inspiration.
Helga Flatland made her debut with the novel Stay if you can. Leave if you must. in 2010, which received overwhelming reviews. For this, she was awarded the Tarjei Vesaas’ Debutant Prize, the Youth Critics’ Prize, and Aschehoug’s Debutant Scholarship. Flatland has achieved great success both domestically and internationally with her seven novels. She is among the leading young Norwegian authors and has gained a large audience for the way she describes human processes such as grief, attachment, and separation.
Mikkel Bugge made his debut with the short story collection Yttersider in 2007. Since then, he has published four books and has, among other things, been nominated for the Brage Prize, the P2 Listeners’ Book Prize, and the Youth Critics’ Prize. He has also written for theater and television. Mikkel Bugge has extensive experience as a writing teacher and has taught creative writing for several years, both for young people and adults.
